I am Kourosh Aria, born in 1982 in Shiraz, Iran. As a painter, illustrator, and animation director, I have been active in various fields of visual art for over two decades. I currently live and work in Austria.

Painting, for me, is far more than the act of depicting a specific subject. People, animals, urban scenes, or untouched landscapes,none of them alone spark my desire to paint unless they are placed in a unique moment in time or space. That is when the journey of discovery begins.

To me, painting is an inner journey. A path toward self-discovery, presence, and insight. In the creative process, I strive to stay true to the external form of the subject, while also reaching beyond it,toward deeper layers and personal truths. Painting is a form of meditation, a spiritual act. Whether the subject is a nude woman, Christ on the cross, or a solitary tree in nature,it is always a journey inward.

Painting, for me, is not just an act of expression. It is a way of being.
